In Steklarna Hrastnik – Opal we are reconstructing both opal and clear glass ovens this summer and we also have some further investments planned in automation of a section of production process. Such huge renewal works are cost and time consuming, therefore our production will be closed from 24th June till 10th August 2009.

Hihger product quality and higher productivity are the two leading motives for automation in handproduction process. Steklarna Hrastnik – Opal d.o.o. has therefore over half a century ago started with automation in handproduction as one of the first glass factories in the world. In this year this so called semi-automatic production was submitet to further automation according to our glassmaking experienceies and know-how.

Steklarna Hrastnik – Opal d.o.o. wants to offer its customers products with the highest quality possible and therefore we are constantly seeking ways of improvement. Next to classic acid etching on both sides of glass we have now introduced into production a new carousel for one-side acid etching.
